Penan

A Penan elder prepares for the hunt. His blowpipe, the result of weeks of painstaking work, is a deadly accurate hunting weapon for all kinds of game. Although many Penan possess shotguns, the blowpipe is still widely used, particularly for smaller animals. Sela’an River, Ulu Baram, 1978.
